8/14/14 UPDATE: The Wisconsin Supreme Court has canceled oral arguments in the Act 10 collective-bargaining case that had been scheduled for Oct. 23. Court records show that the state Justice Department asked for a new date for the appearance before the seven justrices; no reason was given for the request. The challenge to Act 10, which all but eliminated collective bargaining for most public employees, was filed by Madison's teachers union and City of Milwaukee workers' union. No new date was set for oral arguments.
