AFSCME Local 60 - Municipal & School District Employees of Dane County

Monona Grove School Board VOTED on 3/12 to privatize bus drivers jobs

Monona Grove School District bus driver, Ron Kelly just testified before the school board. He read a note he received from a 4th grader this afternoon:

Front of the folded note says: Ron - My best best bus driver

Inside the note reads:

"Thank you for taking me home safely. If I'm going to get a different bus driver - it better be YOU. I love you."

Although all of the correspondences and registrants the Monona Grove School Board heard from about privatizing bus drivers was in OPPOSITION minutes ago the board approved to contract out.

There was a long pause even to get a motion to approve and about 3 members voted yes by voice. MG School Board President, Susan Fox even said "there are always winners and losers," after the vote happened.

Very disappointed by this action.

7PM WEDNESDAY: Show your support of Monona Grove School Bus Drivers by attending Wednesday's MG School Board meeting & registering AGAINST completely contracting out Transportation Services & Bus Drivers Jobs!

The School District will VOTE on privatizing bus drivers Wednesday night.
